FOR PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIANS
Welcome. Thank you for trusting us with your patient’s care.
We are a clinic that treats varicose veins. We offer a variety of treatment methods to help patients with their lower limb venous insufficiency concerns.
We DO NOT treat acute thrombophlebitis or DVT.
Any patient experiencing ACUTE issues should be treated if necessary (as per guidelines…)
Once the issue has resolved we would be happy to see these patients. They will then be assessed and triaged according to our Stratford Vein Clinic protocols.
Patients with known chronic thrombosis can also be referred to be worked up to see if they have any post-thrombotic syndrome issues.
If referring your patient for an assessment for the possibility of varicose vein treatment, we ask you fill out a referral form.
If your patient has not had a Reflux exam ordered, we will order it for them at centres we trust to give the information we require.
Arterial studies are necessary for patients over the age of 65, and we will order if those patients qualify.
Compression stockings are part of the post procedure process. If, as a healthcare provider, you feel your patients might benefit from compression and are considering possible treatment, we recommend they do not fill the prescription until after meeting with the surgeon. We require stocking use post procedure, so we hope they can use their resources (benefits etc.) for this post procedure stocking.
For patients not looking for a referral for treatment but looking for socks or stockings for symptom relief only, we are happy to help fill the prescription that you send along with your patient. We will expect you to resume their care if any concerns arise.
We also offer custom measurements for patients with a body habitus that does not fit the standard sizes or may have unique requirements.
Pregnant patients can be referred and can discuss options with the surgeon for future treatment. We can measure for Maternity compression stockings/pantyhose which are available to order.
Stratford Vein Clinic serves patients from across Southwestern Ontario. Our team of medical professionals provide varicose vein treatments including EVLT, Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy, Microphlebectomy, and Vein Stripping.
